Pilates Hull & East Yorkshire

If you’re looking for a Pilates class in the Hull and East Yorkshire area you’ve come to the right place. We are Carol and Bob Bartram and we are both CYQ Level III Pilates Instructors. We teach a number of classes in the area and would be delighted to teach you.

People are beginning to realise the benefits practicing Pilates regularly can bring. You may have had Pilates recommended to you by your health professional, as many Physiotherapist, Osteopaths and General Practitioners recognise the health benefits of Pilates.

If you already have a back or neck problem, Pilates can help strengthen and stabilise your spine, pelvis and abdominals (core) – often helping to reduce or eliminate any pain you experience. If you don’t have a problem, doing Pilates regularly will ensure you are less likely to get one!

Because Pilates is a Mind/Body exercise system, you’ll leave class feeling fantastic. Your body will have been worked and your mind will be relaxed. Many people say they feel inches taller after a Pilates class and from our own experience we’d have to say that was right.

We both started Pilates because of various injuries. Carol had pain in her hips and back due to a crooked pelvis (caused by falling off too many horses far too often), and Bob suffered from back and neck pain due to poor posture and a wild youth spent in the Merchant Navy.

Four years later we’re both pain free and feel better than we have for a decade! Neither of us is a spring chicken (Carol’s 40 – something and the old bloke is definitely over 50), but as long as we keep doing the Pilates we know we’ll continue to feel great. In fact, Carol’s actually taken up horse-riding again! (Although I suspect it’s a rocking-horse).

That’s the promise of Pilates. Feel better, walk taller, enjoy life more. I can’t guarantee that last, but it’s much easier to enjoy life pain-free!

If you’d like to discuss how Pilates could benefit you, and to find your nearest class please ring me on 01964 603360.

All the best,

Carol J Bartram & Robert E Bartram

Hi Carol. Could you give me some details on where you run your Pilates classes? I know from your website it’s in the Hull area but exactly where and when do you run them?

Many thanks.

Hi Bob and Carol,
I would like to know if you do evening/weekend classes in any of the locations and how much they cost per class.
I have attended your classes at JJB sport. However, I cannot get on Bob’s class at JJB on Saturday am as it is always fully booked now that the 2nd class is gone. And I cannot attend the weekday classes.
Missing the pliates…it was doing wonders!
Look forward to hearing from you soon,
Bernadette

Hi Bernadette

Bob teaches classes in Hedon and Keyingham on various weekday evenings. Cost is £30 per 6 week course. The best idea is for you to ring us on 01964 603360 and we’ll help if we can – we have colleagues who teach in other parts of Hull as well.

Regards,

Carol & Bob

I am hoping to join a pilates class for beginners. I live at Great Hatfield near Hornsea. Do you run any classes in the area?
Thanks

Hi Anne,

The nearest would be our Keyingham class which may be too far in the depths of winter :)
I’m afraid I don’t know of any others in your area.

Carol
